How To Download and Watch Movies on Amazon Firestick

As we know, we live in a golden age of movies. And younger readers probably find this hard to believe, but there was once a time when watching a movie meant going to a theatre and seeing what was showing, and that was it. There were no movies at home. Probably someone had an 8mm projector and a couple of (boring) short movies about something, but Star Wars? You saw Star Wars when it was in the theatre, or you did not see it at all. Times have certainly changed. In this article we discuss how to download movies on firestick 2020 and what are the best firestick apps for movies.

Today, we all have access to gigantic or massive libraries of movies, both new releases & classics (and not-so-classics) of the past. Whether you use your smartphone, your PC or a TV, you can access massive numbers of legitimate (and not so legitimate) copies of movies. Sites such as Hulu, Netflix and Prime Video stream terabytes of video content constantly.

One of the most common solutions for consumers to stream videos to their TV is the Amazon Fire TV Stick. It raises the question – can you download movies to your Fire TV Stick? Not directly. The Stick does not have local storage in which to store any video; it has to stream things from another source. Although, there are ways to download movies onto other devices for later consumption. Besides, your Fire TV Stick can access Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, or similar services, to get movies that way. In this post, I’ll show you different options for getting movie content onto your Fire TV Stick.

The Best Firestick Apps for Streaming?

The first & most straightforward way to gain access to movies is to use Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, or another service. Just install the appropriate app. You’ll need a subscription for most such sites, though there are some excellent free alternatives, & surf the available libraries to your heart’s content. Remember that not all movies you probably want to watch are going to be available on any one service; sometimes you’ve to bounce around between several different sites to find what you’re looking for.

There are several best paid & free streaming services; here are some of the most famous ones.

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video is a best-bundled service that’s included for free with a subscription to Amazon Prime, Amazon’s flagship quick and free delivery option for its online retail business. Besides, Prime generally costs $119/year or $12.99/month. For most folks, the Prime Video subscription is not the primary reason for getting Prime, but it’s a nice bonus with great solid high-end movie & TV content.

Netflix

Netflix is one of the most remarkable streaming services around. With plans starting at $9 per month, it’s a perfect choice for a main video streaming service. There are ample movies, TV series and an ever-increasing amount of original content.

Hulu

Hulu is another best and major streaming site, with the desirable benefit of offering upgrades to premium channel packages like HBO and Showtime. It also produces some high-quality original content. Begins as low as $5.99 a month, Hulu even provides some free content; generally older seasons of shows it has licenses for & classic movies.

Pluto TV

Pluto TV has the advantage of being entirely free to view, and providing an excellent cable-TV-like array of channels that feels like you have a (low-end) cable TV subscription. There are not a lot of premium movies or TV shows, but the price is right, and the service is very trustworthy.

Classic Cinema Online

Classic Cinema Online is the all-time best among free service providers. There are no latest movies here because CCO focuses purely on the old classics, & there are some genuinely unique movies (and a lot of B-movie filler) on the site. It is a must-have for enthusiasts of old Hollywood.

Popcornflix

Popcornflix is owned by Screen Media Ventures & has licenses to show more than 1,500 movies, streamed free. They have a good mix, with some movies that nobody has ever heard of but quite a few classics and even some newer movies.

Viewster

Viewster is an indie-oriented streaming channel with ample fan-made & independent content. It has numerous animation and anime, so if you’re a fan of those genres, this is a site worth checking out.
